Network Rail Medical Assessment

A Network Rail Medical Assessment is designed to confirm that you are medically fit to work safely within the railway environment, particularly in safety-critical roles.

The assessment is carried out by a qualified medical professional and may include:

* Vision and colour vision
* Hearing
* Blood pressure
* General health and medical history
* Height, weight and BMI
* Mobility and balance
* Respiratory health
* Diabetes checks, where applicable
* Urinalysis for protein and glucose

You will be asked about any existing medical conditions and regular medication. Please provide accurate information and details of any medication you currently take.

Depending on your role, a Drugs and Alcohol Screening may also be required. This can include urine testing and an alcohol breath test.

If additional medical information is required, you may be asked to provide consent for further information from your GP or another healthcare professional.

Once the assessment is completed, the relevant medical outcome can be recorded on your Sentinel profile, where applicable.
