Course Duration: 2 Days
Participants in a hoist operator course will gain the knowledge and skills required to obtain their hoist operator ticket. The CPCS hoist driver ticket certifies that the holder can competently and safely operate a mechanical hoist (passenger, goods, or both) as specified in the CPCS standards.
On construction sites, a construction hoist is typically used to move materials and people in the vertical plane, as opposed to a crane, which moves its load in both the vertical and horizontal planes. The mast, the winch, and the cage are the three main components of a hoist. They can be powered by hydraulics as well as electric or diesel motors. A wheeled chassis allows mobile hoists to be easily dismantled and moved.
